About Hague University of Applied Sciences and Scholarship

The formation of The Hague University of Applied Sciences dates back to January 12, 1987, resulting from the merger of six municipal and nine special institutions of higher professional education in The Hague. Among these institutions, the Hogere Technische School voor Bouw- en Waterbouwkunde stood as the oldest, tracing its origins to the Haagsche Teeken-Academie, founded in 1682, later evolving into the Royal Academy of Art. The university officially commenced its academic journey on September 1, 1987.

Over the ensuing years, The Hague University of Applied Sciences underwent continuous expansion. In 2003, it merged with the Technische Hogeschool Rijswijk and relocated to the campus of Delft University of Technology, subsequently adopting the name The Hague University of Applied Sciences. The Delft campus was inaugurated in 2009. Concurrently, in 2003, the university initiated the Academy for IT & Design in Zoetermeer, established in collaboration with the local business community. This academy now operates as the Faculty of IT & Design.
