The rich history of the University of Bradford can be traced back to its origins as the Mechanics Institute, established in 1832 to address the growing need for skilled workers in the city. This early institution laid the groundwork for what would later become the University of Bradford. In 1882, the Mechanics Institute transitioned into the Bradford Technical College, offering a range of practical skills relevant to the workforce.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Bradford – Postgraduate Bursary
Candidates are advised to meet the following requirements to be eligible for University of Bradford – Postgraduate Bursary:
- Applicants for the University of Bradford Postgraduate Bursary must be citizens of the United Kingdom or the European Union.
- The candidates from the EU must have completed their degree program in England.
- The candidates must be enrolled in a research postgraduate program or a full-time teaching master’s degree.
- Individuals applying for the University of Bradford Postgraduate Bursary must have completed an undergraduate degree program within the last ten years.
- In their last year of undergraduate studies at their former university, the candidates should have been awarded a full maintenance grant by their local authority or the Student Loans Company, and they should be able to provide documentation of this with a financial assistance notification letter.
- After the course has begun, the candidates should visit the Hub with their most recent undergraduate financial assistance notification letter and complete a brief application form.
Application Procedure for University of Bradford – Postgraduate Bursary
Please email the admission office at bursaries@bradford.ac.uk with your name and UB number if you believe you fit the qualifying requirements, and they will send you an application. A maximum of three bursary payments may be given to research program participants.
