University of Idaho Scholarships for International Students, USA 2023

About the University of Idaho and Scholarships

In Moscow, Idaho, there is a public land-grant research institution known as the University of Idaho (U of I, or UIdaho). The leading institution in the Idaho Space Grant Consortium, it serves as the premier research and land-grant university for the state. For 71 years, up until 1963, the institution of Idaho served as the only institution in the state. The American Bar Association initially granted accreditation to the 1909-founded College of Law in 1925.

There are more than 12,000 students enrolled, with more than 11,000 attending the Moscow campus. The institution provides 142-degree programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and specialist degrees, along with honors programs, ranging from accountancy to natural resources. In 30 fields of study, certificates of completion are available.

Its 4 and 6-year graduation rates, at 25% and 53%, are the highest of any public institution in Idaho, and it provides 74% of the state’s research funding, with research expenditures exceeding $100 million in only one year (2010). It is categorized as belonging to the “R2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity” group.

American News & World Report lists U of I as tied for 179th among the top national institutions and tied for 89th among the best public universities in the country in the report from 2020. A Top 50 U.S. News & World Report: America’s Best Value College. According to U.S. News & World Report, one of the top 100 public colleges in the country. The “Best 386 Colleges” list from Princeton Review includes the University of Idaho for 2021. U-Idaho is ranked among the top 286 institutions in the US for environmental responsibility by The Princeton Review. For the sixth year in a row, Idaho received the highest federal honor for its dedication to service learning and civic involvement.

At the University of Idaho, there are more than 20 (multicultural) Greek groups, which account for more than 20% of the student body. Greek life is active among more than 44% of the students who reside on campus. By the spring of 2011, Greeks allegedly had the highest GPA for nine straight semesters.

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Idaho Scholarships

Applicants are advised to meet the following conditions to be eligible for the University of Idaho Scholarships:

  • A minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00, which is comparable to a bachelor’s degree in the United States, is required of applicants.
  • All graduate school candidates must hold a diploma that is accepted as being on par with a bachelor’s degree in the United States.
  • Candidates need to be highly proficient in English.
