For those seeking awards for entry in Autumn 2024, the following benefits will be included:
- Full Payment of Tuition Fees: Your tuition fees will be entirely covered as part of the award.
- Maintenance Stipend: You will receive a maintenance stipend paid at the prevailing UKRI rate (UK Research and Innovation) for 3.5 years. Please note that if you are already in your first year of study when you apply, the length of funding will be adjusted accordingly.
- Research, Training, and Supporting Grant (RTSG): Additionally, you will be granted a Research, Training, and Supporting Grant (RTSG) amounting to £5,000.
Eligibility Criteria for University of Warwick Chancellor’s International Scholarships
Candidates are advised to meet the following conditions to be qualified for the University of Warwick Chancellor’s International Scholarships:
- PhD Application at the University of Warwick:
- Apply for a PhD program at the University of Warwick to commence your studies in October 2024.
OR
- Currently Enrolled in the First Year of a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University of Warwick:
- Be currently enrolled in the first year of a PhD or MPhil/PhD program at the University of Warwick.
- To be eligible for this award, you must be within the first 12 months of your PhD or MPhil/PhD program at the University, to continue your studies in October 2024.
In addition, you must meet the following general criteria:
- Fee Status: You must be assessed as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes. There are no specific nationality criteria; applicants from any nationality can be considered.
- Discipline: You can be from any academic discipline at the University of Warwick. There are no restrictions based on your field of study.
- Meeting these criteria will make you eligible to apply for the awards, which include full tuition fee coverage, a maintenance stipend, and a Research, Training, and Supporting Grant.
Note: Scholarships are non-transferable to the next academic year.

The university emphasizes that it is typically not feasible to complete and submit an application in less than 36 hours. Here is a step-by-step guide for the application process:
- Read the Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria: Start by thoroughly reviewing the Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria to understand the requirements and evaluation criteria for the scholarship.
- Submit your course application and Upload Supporting Documents: Begin the application process for your PhD program at the University of Warwick. Make sure to provide all the necessary supporting documents along with your application.
- Receive an Automated Email with an Applicant ID: After submitting your course application, you will receive an automated email containing a unique 7-digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this email to arrive.
- Register Your ITS Applicant Account: Create or Register your ITS applicant account. This account will be essential for various aspects of your application.
- Submit your scholarship application: Ensure that you submit your scholarship application by the specified application deadline. It is important to adhere to this deadline, as late applications are typically not accepted for any reason.
- Submit Supporting Documents: Along with your scholarship application, submit any required supporting documents within the provided time frame. Late submission of supporting documents is generally not accepted.
- Communication of Scholarship Results: The University of Warwick will communicate the results of the Chancellor’s International Scholarship by email. You can expect to receive this notification by the start of March 2024.
