About Flinders University and Scholarship
The public institution Flinders University is located in Adelaide, South Australia. It was founded in 1966 and was given the name Matthew Flinders after the explorer and surveyor of the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Flinders University, a successful school that belongs to the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group, is rated 36th overall and among Australian universities created less than 50 years ago in the top 10.
The Andrew Thyne Reid Scholarship was created to assist motivated students majoring in nursing, midwifery, or allied health to complete professional experience placements (PEPs) in outlying areas. A strong rural health care system is crucial for the thriving, prosperous rural, regional, and remote communities that Australia needs to grow and stay sustainably populated into the future. This requires exceptional health professionals.
It is acknowledged that students doing fieldwork in outlying or rural locations may incur large costs. With the help of this program, PEPs’ financial burden will be lessened, and students will be able to improve their skills and take advantage of the opportunity to live in a rural or distant town.
