THE AWARD

The Keele University Undergraduate Global Scholarship offers financial support across the duration of a student’s undergraduate studies. The scholarship is structured as follows:

Year 1:

  • Awards of £5,000 will be granted to students who exceed the published entry requirements upon entry for their Level 4 tuition fees.

Year 2:

  • If a weighted average module mark of 60-69% is achieved from the modules studied in Year 1 (Level 4), a payment of £1,000 will be awarded towards the Year 2 (Level 5) tuition fee.
  • If a weighted average module mark of 70% or more is achieved from the modules studied in Year 1 (Level 4), a payment of £2,000 will be awarded towards the Year 2 (Level 5) tuition fee.

Year 3:

  • If a weighted average module mark of 60-69% is achieved from the modules studied in Year 2 (Level 5), a payment of £1,000 will be awarded towards the Year 3 (Level 6) tuition fee.
  • If a weighted average module mark of 70% or more is achieved from the modules studied in Year 2 (Level 5), a payment of £2,000 will be awarded towards the Year 3 (Level 6) tuition fee.

Year 4 (if applicable):

  • If a weighted average module mark of 60-69% is achieved from the modules studied in Year 3 (Level 6), a payment of £1,000 will be awarded towards the Year 4 (Level 7) tuition fee.
  • If a weighted average module mark of 70% or more is achieved from the modules studied in Year 3 (Level 6), a payment of £2,000 will be awarded towards the Year 4 (Level 7) tuition fee.

Eligibility Criteria for Keele University Undergraduate Global Scholarship

The Keele University Undergraduate Global Scholarship is automatically awarded to enrolled undergraduate international students who exceed the published entry requirements for their year of entry. It is offered as a tuition fee discount. Here are some important points to note:

  • The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount.
  • There is no cash alternative available, and the award cannot be used in place of any required deposit.

The scholarship is specifically for full-time undergraduate students who will be starting their studies at Keele University in September 2024. It is not available for any other year of entry.

The scholarship does not apply to students in the following categories:

  1. Those entering Foundation Year study.
  2. Students in Medicine programs.
  3. Programs delivered through the Harper and Keele Veterinary School.

Only self-funding international students are eligible for this scholarship, and they must be confirmed as overseas students for fee-paying purposes. The scholarship is not open to students who are already receiving funding from external bodies such as local governments, charities, or private organizations. Additionally, it is not available for students studying wholly online courses delivered by Keele. Students who progress from Keele University International College (KUIC) to an undergraduate degree program at Keele University are also eligible for the Undergraduate Global Scholarship based on their performance. Here are the specific criteria and benefits for students who complete the KUIC Foundation Year or the KUIC International Year 1:

  1. KUIC Foundation Year: Students who complete the KUIC Foundation Year will qualify for the Undergraduate Global Scholarship.
  2. KUIC International Year 1: Students who complete the KUIC International Year 1 and progress to Year 2 of the undergraduate degree at Keele will qualify for the Undergraduate Global Scholarship at the Year 2 stage based on their percentage criteria:
  • If they achieve a weighted average module mark of 60% to 69%, they will be eligible for a scholarship of £1,000.
  • If they achieve a weighted average module mark of 70% or above, they will be eligible for a scholarship of £2,000.
