About London South Bank University and Scholarship
In London’s Elephant and Castle neighborhood lies London South Bank University (LSBU). The South Bank of the River Thames, from whence it gets its name, is near the company’s headquarters in the London Borough of Southwark. Following the passage of the Further and Higher Education Act of 1992, the Borough Polytechnic Institute, which was established in 1892, was granted university status.
In September 2003, the school’s name was changed to London South Bank University (LSBU), and several new facilities have been added since then, including the School of Health and Social Care, the Center for Efficient and Renewable Energy in Buildings (CEREB), a new Student Center, an Enterprise Center, and a new media center called Elephant Studios. The institution, which has 1,700 employees, enrolls 16,840 students.
In November 2016, the college was named the Entrepreneurial College of the Year by the Times Higher Education Awards. In the first-ever Teaching Excellence Framework, London South Bank University got a Silver ranking in 2017. In The Guardian’s 2018 league table for teaching excellence, the institution placed 92 out of 121 British universities. The university is placed 120th in The Sunday Times league table, which assesses several factors including employment rates, the quality of the research being done, and instructional efficacy. For legal students, The Guardian ranked LSBU equal the 13th.
LSBU received a “Silver” score in the first-ever 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework evaluation, which evaluated the standard of undergraduate instruction at UK institutions and assigned either a bronze, silver, or gold ranking.
The school’s main goal is to encourage all of its students, whether they are continuing to postgraduate study alongside them or re-joining them many years after graduation, to achieve career success and lifelong learning. A postgraduate degree will help students stand out from the crowd in a competitive and congested job market, demonstrate advanced additional study, and improve their chances.
The LSBU Loyalty Award, which gives qualified students a reduction in postgraduate tuition costs when they enroll in one of the postgraduate programs, is something they are happy to provide.
