University of Sussex Saïd Foundation Scholarships, UK 2023
The University of Sussex is accepting applications for its fully-funded Saïd Foundation Scholarships.
About the University of Sussex and Scholarship
On the eastern outskirts of the Lewes District, the University of Sussex is located close to Brighton and Hove, directly adjacent to the Stanmer Park reserve. The closest train station is Falmer, which is nine minutes away from Brighton station. In addition to being adjacent to Lewes, a historic town, the school is around one hour from London. It is the only English university that is situated in a National Park, in this case, the South Downs National Park.
Although most of the campus is located within Brighton and Hove’s municipal limits, it is near to the community of Falmer. Its proximity to the South Downs had an impact on Spence’s campus design.
Spence, who was in awe of the surrounding area’s grandeur, planned the campus as a stream of modest structures so as not to obstruct the surrounding natural beauty. Since brick was the most widely used material in Sussex, it was utilized throughout.
It held the top spot in the world for development studies according to topic rankings in 2021. ranked 29th globally, 11th in Europe, and 7th domestically in the social sciences according to the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. It was placed 48th for Business and Economics and 49th for Law globally. In the same year, according to the Times Higher Education subject rankings, it was placed fourth in the UK for sociology, seventh for geography, fourth for politics and international relations, tenth for psychology, and second for communication and media studies.
In addition, the institution received rankings in the top 100 for social sciences in the CWTS Leiden Ranking 2016, the top 150 for social sciences in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2016, and the 90th place for psychological sciences in the U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Students from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria are eligible for five master’s scholarships. A student in the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) may use one, while students in any other department at the University of Sussex may use up to four.
