About the University of Exeter and Scholarship
A public research institution called the University of Exeter is located in Exeter, Devon, England, in the United Kingdom. In 1838, 1855, 1863, and 1888, respectively, St Luke’s College, Exeter School of Science, Exeter School of Art, and the Camborne School of Mines were founded. Following the University of Exeter’s 1955 royal charter, these institutions merged to establish the new university. The University of Exeter is referred to as Exon. (from the Latin Exoniensis) in post-nominals, and this is the suffix used for both academic and honorary degrees from the institution.
Streatham and St. Luke’s in Exeter, Truro and Penryn in Cornwall, and Streatham and St. Luke’s in Exeter make up the university’s four campuses. The university’s main location is in Exeter, Devon, where it serves as the primary higher education facility. The largest campus, Streatham, is home to many of the university’s administrative structures. Under the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) program, Falmouth University and the Penryn campus jointly operate the campus. There are more than 1.2 million physical library materials available at the Exeter Streatham Campus Library, including unique collections and antique journals.
The institution is now ranked between 11th and 18th in the major UK university rankings. Exeter was placed joint-26th overall in the UK in The Sunday Times’ ten-year (1998-2007) average rating of British universities based on sustained league table performance.
The Times, The Guardian, and The Complete University Guide place it at number seven in the UK for 2016. After making its debut in the Times Higher Education Top 200 World Universities rankings in 2010/2011 (in 184th place), Exeter improved its global status in 2011/2012 by landing in 156th place. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2015–16 placed Exeter at number 93. Exeter was ranked number 34 out of the top 500 main universities in the world by the Leiden Rankings (2015).
According to the 2020 Subject Rankings of the Academic Ranking of World Universities, Exeter University is ranked 11th in the world for public administration. The QS World University Subject Rankings 2020 ranked Exeter 10th internationally for sport and health sciences and 14th globally for engineering in minerals and mining.
The University of Exeter is partnering with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign to give up to eighteen £10,000 scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Exeter GREAT Scholarships
Applicants are advised to meet the following conditions to be qualified for University of Exeter GREAT Scholarships:
- The applicant should hold an undergraduate degree (for this scholarship at the institution of Exeter, often the equivalent of a UK upper second-class degree) that will allow them to enroll in a postgraduate (taught) program in a UK institution.
- Should possess the drive and intellectual aptitude to pursue a postgraduate program in the UK.
- Must be actively involved in the topic, have job experience or have a strong interest in the field, and fulfill the English language proficiency requirements of the UK university.
- Be prepared to embody the UK higher education experience by participating in extracurricular activities, attending lectures, and acting as an advocate for the UK higher education system by highlighting the advantages of attending a UK HEI.
